Some adverts really annoy me, some make me smile. I know there are far more meaningful things in the world to worry about but surely sometimes we need to lighten up a bit.
The advert on the link below is just plain lazy.
It makes a grand boast that, well to be honest, don't seem right to me.
http://ispot.tv/a/7oMH
It tells the viewer that, if you have a partial denture you are 2x as likely to lose the supporting teeth.
Two points here. If you don't have a partial denture there are no supporting teeth to lose.
Point two, if you have a full set of dentures there are no supporting teeth either.
What are they going on about, or more to the point, what are they comparing the probability against.
Twice as likely to lose supporting teeth, compared to, well, nothing really.
Poligrip, making grand claims that are, quite frankly meaningless.
I hasten to add though, that I am in no way saying that the product dose not work, that is not the issue here, the issue is the meaningless statement.
There are a few more adverts about at the minute which I may blog about when I see them again.
Stay tuned.
You are twice as likely to read this blog if you visit it, than someone who does not.

New job, new schedule
So, where are we in terms of training days? Well, I have managed to get a few days in. A couple of 10km steady runs, and a couple of quicker 5km runs, most enjoyable.
I have just secured myself a new job, which is not only within walking distance of home, as opposed to the 15 mile drive at the moment, but is far more sensible hours wise. This will allow me far more time for training as I will be in doors from work within 10 minutes of finishing, allowing me time for a run every night if I wanted. No weekend work, means I can schedule in longer runs on a regular basis also.
As I have mentioned before, I'm sure, I am doing the Silverstone half marathon in March, and am now busy looking for something after then.
I am drawn by the BUPA London 10k in May. This looks like a very nice event, on a very picturesque course and not to soon after Silverstone.
I will continue to do my local(ish) Parkrun, and with no weekend work I can do these a lot more.
The training times are not to bad. I'm not really looking to complete in a particular time, but and "around" time of 2:00-2:15 for the half would be good for my first one.
At the minute I'm doing 5km in about 0:30 and 10km in 1:04. Not world beating, but its heading in the right direction.
If I can get 2 hours for my first half marathon I will be very pleased.
I am running on behalf of Alzheimer's and if you feel you can support me there is a link below. It would be fantastic if you could.

D'you swallow
Went out running Friday, early morning start out in the sticks.
Parked at Rodbridge picnic area, a brave move for two blokes to do before you start. A place renowned for the more salubrious sides of life, so I've been told.
Anyway, we parked up, the time was around 7ish I would imagine. Upon getting out we was greeted by the sound of someone chucking up.
I said to Skip, I think he must have just run the route I have planned for us. He was really going for it, noise and all sorts.
Then it dawned on us both as we remembered where we were, maybe, just maybe, he'd experienced his first dogging session. I tried to convince myself, and Skip, that he had in fact actually been for a run, even though he had jeans on.
I instructed Skip upon our return from the run, when the happy puker had gone, to go and look at what he'd brought up.
Go see if theres anything 'ahem' alien in his sick Skip.
I thought Skip was gonna be sick himself at the thought of looking. Needless to say neither of us checked, we just chuckled to ourselves at the fact he was being sick due to guilt, or something like that.
One thing has just crossed my mind, we could have looked to see if his car windows were misted up, bugger, a missed chance.
It did have one good thing to come from it though, the first part of our run, up hill into Borely went ok as we was still talking about the happy dogger.
