A bit of everything, waffle mainly

So, its been a while (again) since i last updated the blog, but with a spare half hour I might as well treat you to some of my ramblings.
For those of you who have read my blog before you will remember my cycling dramas, well guess what...........I'm giving it another go.
I got rid of the heavy old mountain bike, almost immediately after the Tesco debacle. I now have a road bike, drop handlebars, more gears than I no what to do with and thinner tyres. It rolls a lot easier than the Mountain bike, I managed the same hill as before without having to stop and feign injury, I was right proud. Having said that, to be fair I dont smoke now as I did then, and I run now. I would have been more disappointed now, had I not made the summit :-) Summit, get me, it is, in reality, the top of, what a cyclist would, at best describe as a gentle slope.
Next weekend see me and daughter swanning off to watch Augustines. One of my favourite bands of the moment. I am, ahem, moist with anticipation at seeing them. "But you 50 for gods sake, you need to grow up" I hear you cry Sod that growing up lark, wheres the fun in that. Enjoy yourself, do what you want to do, not what others say you can do, (legal only though).
At the end of the month I'm off to London for the BUPA 10k, should be fun, I think. Gonna go on my own, drive, park, underground, run, underground, drive and back in doors, knackered but home, which I'm sure you will agree, is by far and away the best place to be knackered.
I didn't manage to take part in the Silverstone half marathon, due to my leg injury so any sponsorship is being carried over to London, give generously if you can.
The new job is going ok, the hours are great, the weekend starts at lunchtime Friday which is a right bonus.
Before I sign off I'd just like to give a little plug to our new event in Great Cornard. We have our very own Parkrun. No more traveling to Bury, Colchester or Ipswich, unless ours is off, or travelling floats your boat. It takes place, as they all do, at 9am at Thomas Gainsborough school. previously known as Great Cornard Upper School. Just go through reception and we meet at the far corner of the astro pitch. Just head for the multi coloured throng being address by a loud women in equally loud clothing. You know who you are :-)
If I remember anything else to bore you all with I'll update again. Until next time, adieu.
